Bunny Suit Lum from Urusei Yatsura
At some point in 2017, I went on a bunny suit kick where I made a whole bunch in the course of a few days. One of the suits to come out of that was this pink one! It's made from a pretty pink prom dress material and lined with cute little stars as a nod to Urusei Yatsura (and also Mario)! It's only partially boned because I ran out of boning very quickly during my bunny suit spree.
The ears are two layers of the same pink fabric with super thick interfacing and some 90 cent craft wire inside. They're super lightweight and pose-able. They're hot glued onto a fabric covered headband.
I was in a rush to make the cuffs and collar for this, so I actually went to the store and bought a boy's dress shirt and bowtie. The pieces were cut of the shirt and hemmed at the cut and then new buttons and velcro were added to the cuffs.
The horns are made out of oven bake clay and painted! They have slits for bobby pins molded into the bottom, so I could easily glue a pair into each horn.
The tail is made entirely of yarn! It has a super strong industrial magnet glued to it which attached straight to some metal rods I sewed into the back of the suit. The rods are on both sides of the zipper so the suit could still unzip all the way to the bottom. I also didn't have a pink zipper at the time of creation, so I took a super long white one and colored it with a Sharpie. You literally can't tell; it's one of my favorite zipper tricks!
